mcm pitched and won the business to creatively and technically produce the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2009. Taking the design concept from the event’s invite, and the grandeur of One Marylebone Road, mcm created a bespoke set and staging, a lighting programme, and furnished and decorated the drinks reception, bar area and VIP room.
The event was extremely high profile, hosting celebrities such as Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearrnley-Whittingstall and Alex James among the 360 guests. From frosted vinyl on the windows, and doily poseur tables, to ornate frames and gobos the Observer brand shone.
mcm also produced the Award Ceremony, organising rehearsals with Mariella Frostrup (the host) and show calling the ceremony itself.
